ICCU

The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) is a specialized facility designed for critically ill patients requiring intensive treatment and constant monitoring.

The HCU (High Care Unit) is a step-down area within the ICU where patients who are showing signs of improvement are placed but still require close monitoring.

The ICCU (Intensive Coronary Care Unit) is a specialized unit dedicated to providing intensive care for patients with cardiac conditions such as coronary heart disease, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, and heart failure, among others.

Intensive Care Unit

The ICU, or Intensive Care Unit, serves as a critical treatment area within hospitals, catering to patients facing severe illness or injury. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical monitoring, specialized beds, and a team of trained staff proficient in acute care, ICUs ensure intensive attention for patients in need.

While most ICUs offer fundamental supportive measures for a diverse range of medically complex cases, hospitals often incorporate specialized units to deliver more comprehensive care tailored to specific medical domains. This approach ensures that patients receive appropriate and thorough treatment without compromising quality or safety protocols.

Intensive Cardiac Care Unit
The ICCU, or Intensive Cardiac Care Unit, represents a specialized branch of the ICU exclusively focused on treating individuals with cardiac conditions such as heart attacks and cardiogenic shock. These units provide tailored, intensive treatments specifically tailored to cardiac care.
Coronary Care Unit
The CCU, or Coronary Care Unit, is a specialized subdivision within the ICU dedicated to managing conditions related to coronary artery diseases, such as angina or myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Surgical Intensive Care Unit
The SICU, or Surgical Intensive Care Unit, is another distinct unit within the ICU framework, concentrating on the intensive care of critically ill patients post-surgery, necessitating vigilant monitoring and specialized attention during their recovery phase.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The NICU, or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, offers specialized medical attention to newborns facing complex health challenges such as preterm births, congenital malformations, or genetic disorders.
Medical Intensive Care Unit
MICU, or Medical Intensive Care Unit, focuses exclusively on delivering critical care to adult patients with severe acute medical conditions like kidney failure, respiratory failure, or multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
PICU, or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, caters to pediatric patients ranging from premature infants to young adults, providing around-the-clock subspecialty expertise and interventions for severe injuries or illnesses.
